AU Information

An AU where Goro Akechi was born a girl. I often operate under the idea that the entire Phantom Thief crew is all women in this AU, but its not a hard commitment I keep to from thread to thread.
Akechi's history broadly follows the exact same path as her mainline counterpart. She grew up poor and miserable in the red light district until her mother's suicide. Being passed around between relatives, eventually gaining her powers as a Wild Card, and attempting to worm her way into her father's good graces.
While mainline!Akechi's always been hyper-cognizant of appearances and perception, fem!Akechi is especially anxious and paranoid of being misconstrued. She puts in extreme effort to present herself as graceful and pure as possible. Even with the reputation as a genius detective, she might willingly answer questions incorrectly to seem harmless or disarming to strangers. She was also extremely reluctant to publicly insult the Phantom Thieves while they were still popular, less out of any real morals and more from the fear that even discrediting the Thieves wouldn't save her reputation in the long-term. She likely couched her accusations in more gentle, concerned tones to save considerable face.
Beyond that, she's often got big Internalized Gender Problems. So obsessed with her own need to build up strength with her own hands, she looks down on men and women she perceives as weak-willed. Even as she works with a regressive power bloc literally operated by her dad, she's not above throwing around "daddy issues" or similar insults at people. She's capable of relating to and commiserating with people who have had similar experience. But if she views them as an enemy instead of an ally, she's shockingly willing to deride and victim blame. Especially towards someone who doesn't react with the anger she thinks they should be feeling about their traumas. Almost like she's got projection issues! Wuh oh!
The girl desperately wants to be ugly and shank people and even more desperately craves that someone would prefer her ugly side to her gentle performance. She likes to hurt people to feel good, she likes to be a dramatic little freak, and its great if she can combine those things. In threads where she's not putting on a sweet role, she's often putting on a bit of a nasty side. The girl's not well.
